Schedule and events - Declaring Our Erotic and Raw Silk workshops begin May 6 & 7!

Writing ourselves whole...
With so many healing and transformative modalities available to us today, why write?

Writing freely, without rules or have-tos, can be both mentally and physically healing!

Transforming our language is one way we transform our lives. How we speak reflects the ways in which we see ourselves and the world around us. Altering and expanding our language has the effect of changing who we know ourselves to be.

Writing Ourselves Whole workshops consist of exercise-initiated and permissive writing groups, wherein participant writers are encouraged to play, risk, stretch and celebrate their complex, full, and fully-brilliant selves. Each workshop session is an intentionally surprising, experiential, transformative art process!

Writing Ourselves Home:
Transformative writing for women

We have often heard about the numerous pressures women are under today. Trying to live up to everyone else's expectations can leave us feeling completely outside of our own selves.

During Writing Our Hearts In workshops, we write in response to exercises chosen to elicit deep-heart writing. These exercises deal with such subjects as: body image; relationships with family, community and self; love; sexuality; history; passion; faith; and more. This writing can deepen participants' relationships with their own writing/passion, and can create an internal space intended to encourage healing, integration and wholeness .

Declaring Our Erotic and Raw Silk:
Sexuality-focused writing groups

Sexuality is a charged arena for nearly all of us, a place where discomfort and fragmentation exists alongside joy and exhilaration. We're often encouraged to attend to our desires, to follow our passions (erotic or otherwise), but how do we learn what those are?

In the Declaring Our Erotic mixed-gender writing groups and Raw Silk writing workshops for women, we write in response to exercises that engage or invoke various aspects of our erotic, sexual and sensual selves, in a safe and confidential group of peers. This group is designed to leave participants more comfortable with sexual language and with in fullness and complexity of their own, individual sexual desire.

Write Whole: Survivor spaces

For those of us who are survivors of sexual trauma, a sense of fragmentation can seem like just the way life is. We walk around feeling like we're in pieces, never fully present, never fully ourselves.

In Declaring Our Erotic or Writing Our Hearts In groups specifically for survivors, we come together not to rehash our trauma stories, but to create new art, new beauty, out of our experiences, and to increase our sense of integration and wholeness.

Specially-Designed Workshops

I am available to work with agencies, organizations and providers, as an adjunct to the very important services they provide. Writing workshops (either one-time or multi-session) create the opportunity for new levels of work and healing. Exercises can be chosen to focus on particular topics or areas of learning. I have worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual trauma, LGBTQQI youth, homeless women, and groups of adult students.
